Showrunner of ‘The Unit’ Says Show Only Ended Because Wrong Studio Owned it

Speaking with candor about the harsh reality of today’s TV business, Shawn Ryan, showrunner and excutive producer of "The Unit," calls it as he sees it, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Noting that "Medium," which was canceled by NBC and picked up by CBS for the fall, is produced by CBS’ sibling studio division, and that "The Unit" was produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Ryan said that if "Medium" was made by Twentieth and "The Unit" was made by the studio associated with CBS, "The Unit" would not have been canceled.

Of course by that logic there was nothing preventing Fox Broadcasting from picking up "The Unit," but they chose not to do so.
