Oprah Winfrey Named in Plagiarism Suit Seeking $1 Trillion (No, That’s Not a Typo)

A poet named Damon Lloyd Goffe has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Oprah Winfrey seeking an astounding $1 trillion, NBC Chicago reports.

Goffe wrote "A Tome of Poetry" which he claims has been substantially used/plagiarized in Winfrey’s Internet-published work "Pieces of My Soul."

In a suit filed at the District of Columbia Court on July 31, Goffe declared that Winfrey admitted she used his original works in 2008.

Goffe’s lawyers have estimated the damages — a vast amount — based on the fact that reportedly 650 million copies of "Pieces of My Soul" were sold online.

  1. Just another low-life trying to get rich on someone elses hard work.

  2. I am with you Chris Maurizio……….and to sue someone for a Trillion dollars make him sound more stupid!!!
I am behind THE O……all the way!!

  3. Oprah getting caught with her greedy hand in the cookie jar. With all that money, can’t she afford to pay for a few ‘fact checkers’.
She should know better than that. She’s in the media business, people!
