A museum is opening in Mount Airy, N.C., that will be dedicated to one of the most popular TV shows ever made.

The Andy Griffith Museum opens Saturday in Mount Airy during the city’s annual Mayberry Days celebration, reports the Mount Airy News.

Andy Griffith was born June 1, 1926, in the North Carolina city, which also calls itself "Mayberry, U.S.A."

Dedicated to the memory of "The Andy Griffith Show," the museum will house the largest collection of Mayberry memorabilia, most donated by Griffith’s friend Emmett Forrest.
