California’s First Lady Maria Shriver will be the guest editor for a week of NBC News programming next month designed to “educate the public on the current state of women in America,” the New York Times reports.

The content is based on a study called “The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Changes Everything,” which was commissioned by Shriver, a former NBC correspondent, and Time magazine, Hewlett-Packard, and the Rockefeller Foundation, as well as NBC Universal.

The week of programming begins Oct. 18 on “Meet the Press” and will continue on the “NBC Nightly News,” “Today” and NBC Universal’s CNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo and iVillage.
