Reception Problems Linger Months After Digital Transition

Sep 21, 2009  •  Post A Comment

More than three months after the transition to digital TV, many viewers still can’t receive certain stations, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The problem particularly affects UHF stations that moved their signals to VHF. Since the switch, at least 20 such stations have asked the FCC for permission to move back to UHF, and others also want to do so. But cell phone carriers own some of that spectrum now and other slots have been set aside for emergency services, meaning there may not be enough room for the stations.
