U.S. Version of Simon Cowell’s Popular UK Show ‘X Factor’ Being Discussed

Sep 24, 2009  •  Post A Comment

"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell may finally be getting his wish to bring his British format “The X Factor" to the U.S., as part of a new deal he’s negotiating with Fox to stay as an “Idol” judge for another two years, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Cowell created the show. He would executive produce the American version for Fox but it’s not clear if he would also be a judge, as he is in the British version.

The show is somewhat similar to ‘Idol’; the primary difference being that music groups are allowed to compete.
