It was American Idol beating the Winter Olympics in the ratings on Tuesday night, Feb. 16th, according to TVBytheNumbers.com.

From 8p.m. until 10 p.m., ‘Idol’ averaged a 9.1 ratings in the 18-49 demo. The Olympics on NBC averaged a 5.1 rating in same demo. \

A new episode of ABC’s "Lost" at 9 p.m. came in third to "Idol" and the Olympics with a 4.5 rating, off slightly from last week. But ABC’s "The Forgotten" at 10 o’clock drew only a 1.7 in 18-49 year olds, significantly down from the "Lost" lead in.
