‘Better Off Ted’ Shuffles Closer to Punching Out for Good

The likelihood of ABC picking up the irreverent single-camera office comedy "Better Off Ted" for another season lessened after a casting announcement at NBC today.

The sitcom’s star, Jay Harrington, has been cast in the NBC pilot "Nathan Vs. Nurture," reports Variety.

The new comedy casts Harrington as the title character, a super-successful heart surgeon who discovers he was adopted, then meets his biological siblings who haven’t achieved his lofty standards.

"Nathan" could lose Harrington’s services if ABC opts to renew "Ted," as it is considered in the second position on Harrington’s slate.

  1. NO! They can’t kill of “Ted”! It’s a great show, quirky and funny, and the charcters are just wonderful!

  2. Better Off Ted is excellent. SO I expected that it would not last but I thought it could go another season or two at least. I would watch at least that long. It is a lot of fun. I love all the characters. Instead of Jumping the Shark ABC Arrested Developmented It. Damn!

  3. My feelings exactly. BOT is such a good show that we knew it wouldn’t last, but we sure would have liked it to last longer. What a great ensemble led by Jay Harrington and Portia de Rossi.
