The networks appear to be betting that cop dramas will be hot come fall, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The four major networks have ordered 22 pilots about some aspect of law enforcement, whether the CIA, FBI, U.S. Marshals or just plain cops, THR says.

The orders follow success this season of CBS’ new “NCIS: Los Angeles" and last year’s “The Mentalist," along with ABC’s "Castle."

In other genres, there are five legal drama pilots that have been ordered, but just two medical dramas.
