‘Lost’ Returns With Nielsen Zing; Date That ABC Will Air Final Episode in Series Announced

The much-touted and promoted return of ABC’s "Lost" help the network earn some strong
numbers in the Tuesday night Nielsen ratings, averaging a 5.6 in the 18-49 rating over the two hour, 9-11 p.m. slot, reports TVbythenumbers.com.

Separatey, ABC has announced that the final episode of "Lost" will air on Sunday, May 23, from 9 pm to 11 pm, ET. A series recap will air that evening from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Back to Tuesday night’s ratings: At 8 p.m., Fox’s "American Idol" continued to be dominant, getting an 8.85 average rating in the 18-49. CBS’ ‘NCIS" collected a 4.4, while the rest of the hour were reruns and a "Lost" clip show.

Nine o’clock was a "Lost" victory, averaging 5.65 for the hour, over Fox’s "Kitchen Nightmares" which had a 3.9 mean rating. NBC’s "The Biggest Loser" had a 3.7, ahead of CBS’ showing of "NCIS: LA" with a 3.6.

"Lost" from 10-11 averaged a 5.5 in the 18-49, over "The Biggest Loser" with a 3.7 and CBS’ "The Good Wife" with an average 2.6.
