‘MacGyver’ Creator Ticked About ‘MacGruber’ Movie

A comedy sketch on ‘Saturday Night Live’ is one thing, but a feature film is quite another — and the creator of ‘MacGyver,’ Lee Zlotoff, wants to stop the March release of the film that mocks his TV show, "MacGruber," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Zlotoff retained film rights to "MacGyver" when the show went off the air in 1992, and his representatives have issued cease-and-desist letters since the feature based on the "Saturday Night Live" segments featuring cast members Will Forte and Kristen Wiig was given a go.

Relativity Media, which is producing the Jorma Taccone-directed film, and distributor Universal declined to comment, THR says.
