Is it possible that NBC will be taking another high-profile hit with a big-name star? Perhaps, if Christopher Meloni follows through on his plan to exit the network’s top drama, "Law & Order: SVU."
According to Australia’s Courier-Mail, the actor said in an interview that a dozen years as the same character is enough.
"The writers will have fertile ground to figure out how to arc him [the character Elliot Stabler] out to another place—whether it’s this world or the next." Meloni said he was ready to move on to film and theater work.
The Courier-Mail said reps for Meloni and NBC did not reply to requests for comment.

How about replacing him with Naveen Andrews? His recent guest role on SVU was terrific. I would love to see that character again.
I agree. That Naveen actor was interesting. Chris would be missed.
It won’t be a dozen years until 2011.
