Ferrell Casts ‘SNL’ Alumni for New Comedy Central Series With Debmar-Mercury

Will Ferrell is back in business with his former "Saturday Night Live" cast mates as his produced untitled comedy series moves towards Comedy Central, TheWrap reports.

The series has picked up Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz, who will play buddies to previously cast Jon Heder, star of "Napoleon Dynamite." Both Sanz and Parnell have recently appeared on NBC’s "30 Rock."

The program will revolve around the three of them scheming up ways to save their hometown, Big Lake.

The new series is being produced by Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions and Debmar-Mercury. Debmar is using the same straight-to-series production model it used for "Tyler Perry’s House of Pain," giving Comedy Central the option to pick the show up for 90 more episodes after its initial 10, allowing access to near-immediate syndication capabilities.
