Huffington Stresses Engagement from Media Outlets, Constant Evolution to Stay Afloat in Digital Era

The Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington outlined the 4Es, engagement, enthusiasm, empathy and energy, needed to succeed within the digital era that is quickly rolling across the content business, Ad Age reports.

Speaking at the 4A’s leadership and media conference in San Francisco, Huffington said she didn’t kill newspapers, but stressed the importance of media outlets engaging users by adding their content to the mix.

She also said that the digital age is constantly evolving, forcing companies to continually change or be left behind. In 2004, she said, the presidential campaign did not involve YouTube or texting due to those mediums’ infancy. But a short four years later, in 2008, Barack Obama announced Joe Biden’s VP nomination via text message, and will.i.am’s "Yes We Can" music video became a viral hit.

  1. Now that’s ironic that Arianna Huffington uses, let alone understands, empathy.
