It’s Official: TLC Gets ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’

After going back and forth between Discovery and A&E, Mark Burnett’s "Sarah Palin’s Alaska" has landed in the Discovery fold, the TLC network to be exact, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Early reports hinted that "Alaska" would end up with Discovery’s TLC, but TLC is positioning the show more as a documentary than as a reality show. Network execs said Palin and her family will have an active role in the show, but will focus more on the surround Alaskan backdrop.

Eight episodes have been ordered, and while no price was announced, reports have circulated that there may be a more than $1 million license fee per episode.

The show is expected to begin airing later this year.
