CBS Middle East correspondent Kimberly Dozier, who was nearly killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq while on the job, has decided to leave CBS News for a position with the AP, reports Mediabistro.com.

CBS News President Sean McManus confirmed her exit in an email memo this morning, saying, "It is my bittersweet task to inform you that Kimberly Dozier will be moving on to a new and exciting opportunity with the Associated Press.

Kimberly’s commitment and courage is legendary throughout the industry. Her reporting, both before and after her almost fatal injuries from an Iraqi bomb attack and a painful, arduous recovery, is a testament to the true power and purpose of the press."
