Richard Code was found dead Wednesday afternoon in a snow-covered area near Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, after leaving for the wilderness the morning of Thursday, Feb. 25, with just a few supplies, the Toronto Star reports.
Code’s relatives didn’t specify if Code had any formal wilderness training, but said he learned much of his wilderness knowledge from Discovery Channel’s "Survivorman."
"Survivorman" follows Les Stroud as he lives in extreme conditions with very few supplies. Code would attempt similar trips, according to the Star, like going into the Muskoka woods without a tent or food.
Police have said the death is not considered suspicious at this time, and Code’s brother, Stephan, said he was told Richard’s death was listed as "hypothermia."
Seriously, what a stupid ass! What kind of retard goes into the Canadian wilderness in the winter and expects to survive?
hmmm… i can understand your comments. i knew Richard personally. While it is apparent he underestimated the weather conditions, he never went at such outings without very careful preparation. Nonetheless, he already paid the consequences with his life, so really, such comments really could be reconsidered.
