ABC Greenlights U.S. Version of Popular Russian TV Show

ABC has ordered a U.S. version of a popular Russian TV show that’s been on TV in Russia for the past 35 years.

It’s a game show featuring teams working together to solve puzzles, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

"The Six" follows six players as they team up to solve logic games in less than one minute. The network has ordered six episodes of the show from Merv Griffin Entertainment, with production slated to begin in the summer. The show has been on the air in Russia since 1975, which, coincidentally, was the year when Griffin’s "Wheel of Fortune" hit U.S. television sets. The U.S. version will feature U.K. television presenter Vernon Kay.
