Comcast Chief Operating Officer Steve Burke was paid $33.9 million in 2009, Multichannel News reports.
Burke’s compensation jumped by 50%, reaching $33.9 million compared with $22.6 million in 2008, the article says.
Stock awards, which totaled $10.1 million last year, were up from $4 million in 2008, according to the report, which cites Comcast’s proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Burke also received a $3 million bonus, compared with no bonus in 2008, and his base salary rose to $2.33 million from $2.22 million in the prior year.
Burke will run the company’s content assets when the Comcast-NBCU deal is approved later this year.
