"ER’s" Maura Tierney is returning to television, rejoining the cast of FX’s "Rescue Me" for its final seventh season, TVGuide.com reports.
Tierney will reprise her role on FX’s "Rescue Me," playing Kelly McPhee, who was a love interest for Denis Leary’s character on the show in season 5.
Production for "Rescue Me" is filming seasons six and seven back-to-back, meaning Tierney’s season seven role won’t air until 2011.
Tierney was slated to star in NBC’s "Parenthood," until she dropped out of the part in order to undergo breast cancer treatments. Tierney’s rep said that Tierney has completed treatment and is ready to move on to the next phase of her life.
