Fox Bags Tuesday With ‘Idol’ and ‘Glee’ Combo

The Fox timeslot stunt of a 90-minute "American Idol" followed by the return of "Glee" at 9:28 p.m. ET, was a ratings bonanza on Tuesday night, according to TVbythenumbers.com.

For the first hour, 8-9 p.m., "American Idol" had a 6.8 average in the 18-49 demographic, topping NBC’s "The Biggest Loser" which had a 2.9 average, ABC’s "Dancing With the Stars" results with a 2.7, and CW’s "90210" had a 0.7.

In the 9 p.m. hour, "American Idol" and the first part of "Glee" earned a 7.9 and 5.9, respectively. For the hour, "The Biggest Loser" had a 3.7 in the 18-49 demo, ABC’s "Lost" had a 3.8 and CW’s "Melrose Place" earned a 0.5.

In the 10 p.m. hour, Fox scored with the remainder of "Glee" logging a 5.4. NBC’s "Parenthood" earned a 2.5 average in the 18-49 rating, better than ABC’s "V" which had a 2.3 average.
