Kelsey Grammer Supports Fledgling Network on the Right

Apr 19, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Actor Kelsey Grammer is one of the backers of a new on-demand and online network that will be ” ‘pro-America,’ ‘pro-business [and] pro-military sensibilities’ that will ultimately invite conversation and influence ‘the national conversation,’ ” according to the New York Daily News.

“There’s wrong, and there’s right, right network, all that’s right with the world,” Grammer says in a promotional clip for the network (see below).

Shows for the network include “Running,” a reality show following six political rookies running for office for the first time, and “Evan Sayet’s Right 2 Laugh,” a conservative comedy show.

This Daily News article originally said that Comcast is involved in the RightAmerica because one of its backers is Ed Snider, chairman of Comcast-Spectacor had this quote on the RightNetwork website: “We’re creating a welcome place for millions and millions of Americans who’ve been looking for an entertainment network and media channel that reflects their point-of-view. Rightnetwork will be the perfect platform to entertain, inform and Connect with the American majority about what’s right in the world.”

The quote was credited to Snider who was solely identified by his job title. Comast-Spectacor, is a joint venture that, according to the article, “Comcast-Spectacor is a joint venture with Comcast that was founded by Snider, and owns the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum in South Philadelphia and Comcast SportsNet.”

All of this came to light when the RightNetwork website was discovered by crooksandliars.com.

Later, Comcast said Snider was involved with the network as a private individual and not in his capacity as chairman of Comcast Snyder. Comcast is currently trying to get government approval to merge with NBC Universal.

Here’s the information that had been on the RightNetwork site that was subsequently removed, courtesy a pdf from crooksandliars.com. The removed remarks can be found here. The crooksandliars article about this can be found here.

  1. Oh my god, I just threw up in my mouth a little.

  2. Well, this won’t endear Snyder too the city of Philly. I mean, he already owns the Sixers and Flyers, who are going nowhere but down, and now to back a right-wing conservative online TV network? Philly hasn’t had a Republican mayor since the 50’s. We are so far to the left in Philly, we pull the WHOLE STATE OF PA to the left with us in national politics and state government races. So, with this bit of info coming out…Snyder’s really got to rethink his stance on backing this network.

  3. The promo for the poker show looks pretty cool. I’ll give these guys a look see.

  4. Looks good! I will definitely be taking a peek at it.

  5. FYI – Race Bannon and I are gay lovers…
So much for the Right-Wing/Conservative Media conglomerate. We’re just another couple of closeted and self-loathing queer Republicans!
