Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against  ‘Desperate Housewives’ creator/showrunner Marc Cherry, alleging he hit her and when she complained to ABC Cherry had her character killed off the show.

TMZ obtained a copy of the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, April 5 in Los Angeles Superior Court. TMZ said Sheridan "is suing for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination," and is asking for more than $20 million.

According to an account of thestory on People.com, ABC Studios responded in a statement, ""While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."

According to the People account, "When Sheridan questioned Cherry about something that was in the script, Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,’ the lawsuit says. A humiliated Sheridan yelled back, ‘You just hit me in the head. That is not okay. THAT IS NOT OKAY!’ according to the lawsuit."

Next, according to People, "Cherry went to her trailer to ‘beg forgiveness,’ the lawsuit says, but after Sheridan reported him to ABC, his behavior allegedly worsened. She was informed in February 2009 that her character was being written off the show and she was being fired, according to the lawsuit."

TMZ also says in its story that "The suit alleges when Cherry found out Teri Hatcher went above his head to complain about him, he said, ‘I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.’ "

  1. I’m sure Cherry will just say he was “kidding” and there will be a big group hug.
At least until Desperate”s ratings drop.

  2. Gee Nicollette maybe he killed you off because you are a lousy actress. So if you sue ABC you won’t have to worry about
trying to find another job. By the way thanks for putting my job in jeopardy too!

  3. I’ve never met Mr. Cherry, but I have worked with Ms. Hatcher from the pilot through the first season on Lois and Clark, and I think that he’s a bit too easy going when dealing with what I have long thought of as a monster.
After my experiences with her, I would want her to live a long life in a full body cast with a serious, continuous insect infestation, watching re-runs of her “work” with her eyes held open ala Malcom McDowell in A Clockwork Orange. Or, am I also being a bit too easy going?

  4. Neat blog layout! Very easy on the eyes.. i like the colors you picked out

  5. I enjoy the journalism relevancy of your website and it will a beautiful decent work of presenting the info.
