Skipping Sandwiches, ‘Chuck’ Fans to Use Flash Mobs to Show Support

With "Chuck" once again on the bubble for renewal, fans of the show are mobilizing to show support for the program, although this time they’re skipping the sandwiches, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

"Chuck" fans are organizing flash mobs in at least four cities — Chicago, Seattle, San Diego and Philadelphia — where they’ll gather on Monday dressed in Buy More-style outfits (think name tags on short-sleeve dress shirts). The previous effort to show support for "Chuck" involved fans buying sandwiches from show sponsor Subway, in order to show NBC that fans would support the program’s backers.

This year’s plan is designed to attract more viewers to the show. "Every season they offer more proof there should be licensed and professional fans teaching other fans how it’s done. This is yet another example of their awesomeness," said "Chuck" co-creator Josh Schwartz.

  1. Chuck should be a no-brainer for NBC to pick up. The show is up 60% in the ratings compared to last year, and that’s quite good considering the stiff competition it’s up against on Monday nights.
