"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will open a Broadway musical in March 2011, the New York Times reports.

The musical will satirize Mormonism, a religion that "South Park" has previously taken aim at. "South Park" has a tradition of satirizing organized religion, the article says.

The musical will be called "The Book of Mormon" and will set the story of two young Mormon missionaries next to that of Mormon founder Joseph Smith. Stone and Parker have written the book for the show, while Tony Award-winner Robert Lopez, a co-creator of puppet musical "Avenue Q," wrote the music and lyrics. Parker will direct the show with Jason Moore of "Avenue Q," the article says.
