Was Neal McDonough Fired Over What He Says His Religion Says He Can’t Do?

Former "JAG" star David James Elliott replaced Neal McDonough in the ABC dramedy "Scoundrels," and now it appears the reason for the switch in actors had to do with McDonough’s religion, reports Deadline.com.

A devout Catholic, McDonough reportedly objected to doing a love scene with leading lady Virginia Madsen, the article says.

In every role he’s played, McDonough has always stipulated that he cannot be in sexual situations, and ABC was aware of this constraint because when he appeared on "Desperate Housewives," he refused to play a hot scene with Nicolette Sheridan, acording to the article.

  1. Maybe this is the wrong profession for him and he should find something else to do.

  2. Why would a TV company sign an unknown, like Neal McDonough, to act in a series that said unknown disapproves of in the first place? I certainly wouldn’t hire a known problem actor when there are so many good, modern-day actors out there looking for work.

  3. I have to agree with mrsbeans. And only the A-listers can really pull stunts like that. He’ll probably get the casting no-call treatment.
