The ABC TV affiliates board has elected a new chairman at its meeting in Los Angeles, B&C reports.
The new chairman is Bill Hoffman, general manager of WSB-TV in Atlanta.
Hoffman, who has been active in the board’s past activities, is succeeding McGraw-Hill broadcast President Darrell Brown.
WSB is the flagship TV station of Atlanta-based media powerhouse Cox Enterprises. Cox also owns the major newspaper in Atlanta, the Atlanta Constitution and Journal.
The ABC affiliates body’s annual meeting began in Los Angeles on Tuesday and continues today, although the board met in Las Vegas in April to discuss issues such as the need for the network to develop hits in the 10 p.m. time period and to develop better-rated comedies.
