ABC Tires a Little Different Way to Develop Shows

May 25, 2010  •  Post A Comment

While the networks were all readying their line-ups for the upfront presentations last week, ABC started a second development track for five hourlong programs, reports Nellie Andreeva on Deadline.com.

The programs represent shows on which the network wanted to spend more time, and are likely to result in two pilot orders this summer. The programs include "Charlie’s Angels," from Sony TV; a drama from Sony TV called  "Department Zero"; and three projects from ABC Studios. Those are "Behind the Blue," a Taye Diggs-produced police drama, "Ghostworld" from "The Ghost Whisperer" executive producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses, and "Island of Women," a medical show produced by Matthew Gross.

Andreeva adds that Rand Ravich’s pilot "Edgar Floats" has been given an order for six additional scripts and is part of the network’s midseason plans.
