CBS Picks up Twitter-Inspired Show ‘&#*! My Dad Says’

CBS prime-time lineup will include the Twitter-inspired show "&#*! My Dad Says," starring William Shatner as an opinionated dad, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

With CBS set to announce its 2010-11 schedule on Wednesday, the network has also picked up four dramas, including the previously reported "Blue Bloods," the new "Hawaii Five-O" and "Defenders" with Jim Belushi. The fourth drama will be a "Criminal Minds" spin-off starring Forest Whitaker.

While the network was thought to be lukewarm about the latter program, Whitaker’s performance helped convince it, as well as the fact that the "Minds" format has worked for CBS.

"&#*! My Dad Says" is based on the vulgar and funny sayings posted on Twitter by Justin Halpern, and the show will star Ryan Devlin of "Cougar Town" as a young man based on Halpern.
