Glee" has been renewed for a third season by Fox as the show prepares to wrap up its first season with a finale on June 8, EW.com reports.
It’s a huge vote of confidence for the freshman show, which is ranked as the top new scripted show in the 18- to 49-year old and 18- to 34-year old age groups. Picking up a show for two seasons has its economic advantages, such as cutting production costs over time, as well as its creative benefits by allowing the show’s writers to map out the program’s arc, the article says.
“In just one year, ‘Glee’ has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,” said Fox Networks Group Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice in a statement, EW reported.
