Two time Oscar winner Jessica Lange has signed on to play Victoria Barkeley, the matriarch on the big screen version of ABC’s 1960s Western series "The Big Valley," reports Variety.

Based on the original series pilot, Daniel Adams will write and direct the film. Barbara Stanwyck was the star of the TV show which included a cast of younger stars on the rise, like Lee Major, Linda Evans, Richard Long and Peter Breck. Lange’s film commences filming in July in Baton Rouge, La.
