Official Ratings for Betty White ‘SNL’ Beats Majority of Last Week’s Broadcast Television

The official numbers for Betty White’s edition of "Saturday Night Live" have been released, and they are much more impressive than the preliminary ratings released earlier this week, the New York Times reports.

A impressive 12.1 million viewers tuned in for the former "Golden Girls" star, which, excluding politically-fueled episodes in 2008, was the biggest audience for "SNL" since a Steve Martin-hosted season premiere in 1994. That had 12.2 million viewers.

In the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, the show drew a 4.6 rating. Despite airing during late-night and on a Saturday, that rating bested everything on broadcast last week except for Fox’s "American Idol" and "Glee," and tying "The Big Bang Theory."
