Fox is canceling late-night talk show "The Wanda Sykes Show" after one season, Nellie Andreeva reports at Deadline.com.

The problem was that while ratings for the show were strong at the start, they eventually fell below those of its predecessor, "MadTV."

Fox has other options for the 11 p.m. slot on Saturday, as it’s been developing sketch comedies including one written by and starring Dana Carvey and Spike Feresten and a second from Jamie Foxx and "MadTV" creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small. The projects are also being considered for primetime slots on Friday or Saturday.
