SES World Skies Plans to Move Satellite Carrying Slew of Cable Channels Away from Rogue Satellite

May 18, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Breathe easy: you may still be able to watch The Weather Channel between May 25 to June 7.

SES World Skies, which operates the AMC-11 satellite, said it plans to steer the orb away from a rogue satellite during those weeks, avoiding interference that may otherwise have blocked transmission of its slew of cable channels, reports Multichannel News

AMC-11 carries networks including The Weather Channel, BBC America, QVC, Nick Jr. and C-SPAN. As previously reported, the rogue satellite, Intelsat’s Galaxy 15, stopped communicating with ground controllers in early April, and had threatened to interfere with signals from AMC-11.
