Despite his serious health issues, Bret Michaels returned for the live finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC, reports theNew York Times’ ArtsBeat blog. Michaels, who had returned to the hospital last week after suffering a warning stroke.
Michaels ended up winning the show’s contest with Donald Trump telling him on live television, "You’re hired." He beat out fellow contestant Holly Robinson Peete. Trump said Michaels’ doctors told him they didn’t want the Poison frontman to appear on the show and asked him, "Are you risking your life being here? This is a lot of pressure." Michaels got laughs from the audience by responding, "Lately it seems like me just standing up is risking my life." The singer won $250,000 for his nominated charity, the American Diabetes Association. Michaels walked with a limp and had some drooping on the left side of his face, reports TVGuide.com.
