To Nix Pirates and Spoilers, ‘Lost’ Finale to Be Simulcast in U.K., Italy, Spain and Other Countries

With the finale of ABC’s "Lost" anticipated not just in the U.S. but internationally, broadcasters across the world will simulcast the last episode at the same time as ABC — in part to avoid illegal downloads of the show as well as spoilers floating on the Web, reports the Guardian

That means the U.K.’s Sky1 will transmit the finale at 5 a.m. local time on Monday, May 24, rather than its original plan to broadcast the show in its regular 9 p.m. time slot on May 28. Broadcasters in six other countries — Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Turkey and Canada — will also simulcast the episode.
