Tribune Broadacasting has wasted no time in naming a new president. It was only on Friday, April 30, that the company said Ed Wilson, the former president, was leaving the company.

The new president of broadcasting is Jerry Kersting, the company announced today.

Kersting formerly served as Tribune’s chief operating officer, a position he held since December 2009. Before that, Kersting was an executive vice president when he joined Tribune in 2008.

Kersting is in charge of overseeing the day-to-day dealings and the vision for Tribune’s 23 broadcast stations, WGN America and WGN Radio. Tribune is continuing through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
