"CSI" showrunner Carol Mendelsohn and "CSI: Miami" showrunner Ann Donahue have renewed their contracts with CBS TV Studios for four additional years, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

The contracts represent terms that are longer than typical for a showrunner agreement, as both shows are important to CBS’ schedule, the article says.

Mendelsohn’s agreement includes both "CSI" and showrunning "The Defenders," a legal drama that will debut on CBS on Wednesdays in the fall.

"Carol and Ann are two of the best showrunners of this decade. The ongoing success of ‘CSI’ and ‘CSI Miami’ is testimony to their incredible creative talents and leadership skills," said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler, the article reported.
