Attention all foodies:  Debmar-Mercury/ITV Studios have a project for syndication you”re sure to like.

It’s "The Chefs," a daily one-hour round-table show featuring four well-known professional chefs discussing all kinds of food-related topics, making dishes, and interacting with the audience. The program will be filmed in New York for American TV, with entry in a multi-week on-air test later this year or in 2011, prior to national distribution. Lonnie Burstein, EVP Programming and Production, will oversee production for Debmar-Mercury. ITV will head up the international distribution.

"The two companies are also collaborating on the launch of a new U.S. version of the highest-rated U.K. daytime talker, ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show,’ further details of which will be announced shortly," the companies said.

“ ‘The Chefs’ successfully combines food, a topic that no one can live without, celebrities and a panel of premier chefs in a winning new talk format,” said Debmar-Mercury Co-President Mort Marcus in a statement.  “It has the ability to play across all daytime and early fringe time periods.”

Added Debmar-Mercury Co-President Ira Bernstein, “We’re excited to be working with ITV, whose success in this genre (‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and ‘Kitchen Nightmares’) we believe will be an integral part of this project and which clearly has already tapped into one of the hottest genres in TV today.”
