NBC has tapped one of its drama executives to to run its newly restored current department, giving him responsibility for overseeing the network and studio’s currently broadcast scripted program, reports Deadline.com.
The new current executive is Vernon Sanders.
Erin Gough Wehrenberg was the most recent executive to serve in the role, which lasted until Feb. 2008 when the network restructured and placed responsibility for current series into its drama and comedy departments.
Sanders will report to Angela Bromstad, president of primetime entertainment.
According to the article, Sanders had been working as senior vice president of drama programming and had worked on "Parenthood" and new series including "Undercovers."
