Report: CNN Close to Prime-time Overhaul, with Spitzer Show Followed by Piers Morgan in Larry King’s Slot

CNN is nearing deals to overhaul its prime-time line-up, with an 8 p.m. show hosted by former Governor Eliot Spitzer followed by a 9 p.m. show with "America’s Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan, who would be taking over Larry King’s time period, reports the New York Post.

Neither is a stranger to controversy. While Spitzer left office amid a prostitution scandal, Morgan, who is also a former British tabloid editor, quit a newspaper in 2004 after printing fake pictures of British soldiers torturing Iraqi prisoners, the report says.

Spitzer will become a co-host of an 8 p.m. show, replacing Campbell Brown, and for which CNN is searching for a conservative partner. Morgan, meanwhile, is in talks with both CNN and NBC, and wants a four-year contract with CNN beginning in the fall. CNN said it’s focusing on replacing its 8 p.m. program and that it’s untrue the network is close to an agreement to bump King, the article states. Morgan and Spitzer declined to comment.

  1. Good to hear – maybe they can get my viewership back. Unless they step up their game I’ll send them back to media therapy and laugh it off.
I’ll let Kool Moe Dee tell them:
