Fortysomething Rob Lowe, who’s been in show biz for four decades now, has two projects on his plate: a new reality series and the writing of his memoirs.

The reality show is called "Potomac Fever," he told Variety, Mediabistro reports. Said Lowe, once a regular on "The West Wing," "I’ve always had an affinity for the adventures of young Washingtonians. They live and love at the center of world power. I can’t wait to tell their stories."

Mediabistro, quoting the Washington Examiner, says the following people could be on "Potomac Fever": WSUA9’s Angie Goff; MIX 107.3 DJ Tommy McFly; Miss D.C. 2008 Kate Grinold; writer McLean Robbins and real estate agent Fletcher Gill.

Separately, Lowe has announced that he’s writing a memoir, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends" for Henry Holt and Co., to be published in May 2011, the Associated Press reports. Holt said the book would be "a mid-career meditation on his four decades as an actor," according to the AP report.
