TV Watchdogs Band Together to Fight Comedy Central’s Animated Jesus Project

Jun 2, 2010  •  Post A Comment

The biggest names in television watchdogs — including Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center and Tim Winter of the Parents Television Council — are banding together to fight Comedy Central’s animated show about Jesus Christ, reports The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

The watchdogs are calling the new group the Coalition Against Religious Bigotry (or "CARB"), and plan a press conference tomorrow, Thursday, June 3, to ask advertisers to avoid buying airtime on the program.

However, the show is only in development, which means it’s several steps from getting on air. x According to the article, other forces joining CARB include Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, talk radio host Michael Medved, Bill Donohue of the Catholic League and Rabbi Daniel Lapin of the American Alliance of Jews and Christians.

The story said Comedy Central had no comment.
