Twentieth Mulls Taking Comedy Hit to Syndication Market Despite Only Small Number of Episodes in Can Thus Far

Twentieth Television is pondering whether to take one of the few recent sitcom hits to the syndication market, although several potential buyers have advised the syndicator to wait, reports B&C.

One reason for taking the ABC hit to market now would be that buyers who missed out on "The Big Bang Theory," which was sold to Fox and Turner, have money ready to buy "Modern Family." But while the show is hot, the market would be less competitive given that Fox and Turner just reportedly set a syndication record for "The Big Bang Theory" from Warner Bros. and would presumably sit out on bidding for another high-profile show.

Furthermore, the show has only been on-air for one season thus far, so it’s far from the number of show necessarily for it to be a hit in syndication.
