With Ratings Drifting Lower, Is Fox’s ‘The Good Guys’ a Problem?

Jun 16, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Fox’s "The Good Guys" may be turning into a bad problem for the network, opines Bill Gorman on TVbytheNumbers.com.

The program’s ratings have continued to drift down, despite Fox’s tactic of introducing the show in May with the goal of building interest in the program over the summer. But instead, "The Good Guys" is losing viewers, with its first three original airings scoring ratings of 1.5, 1.4 and 1.3 among viewers between the ages of 18 to 49, the report says.

"While Friday at 9pm is likely one of Fox’s least important hours of the week, might Fox take "The Good Guys" off the schedule before September? Or will the show remain as an albatross around the neck of Fox’s regular season ratings? Or can the show’s early ratings stumbles be reversed?" Gorman asks.

  1. It’s a very good show, but it’s paired now with an awful one, Lie to Me. I hope they keep the show and I like having a comedy to watch this summer, but maybe it’s better suited for the fall, in connection with Glee or something like that.

  2. Did FOX really have serious aspirations for this show anyway? They are in airing it during the summer on their weakest programming night. That’s not exactly nuturing a show for which they had high hopes.

  3. I saw something about this on TV yesterday. Thanks for covering it in greater depth

  5. Having noticed tens of thousands of golfers, I really feel fairly secure in producing this generalization: some gamers are blessed with above-average athletic ability—the huge majority of people aren’t. Like a teacher, you welcome that as being a challenge.
