Bringing her critical eye to our business processes and her understanding of evolving brands to our networks will be key to driving us towards future growth across Discovery Channel and Science Channel.”

Lucas will report to Bunting.

Discovery Communications said it "will begin an internal and external search to replace Ms. Lucas as CMO."

Prior to joining Discovery Communications, Lucas held key marketing posts at The Weather Channel and at Turner Broadcasting. She’s also held brand management positions at Coca-Cola and Clorox.

  1. I think you may have been hit by the spell check gremlin. I don’t think Tom Cosgrove was ever the “naked president” of Discovery 3D…

  2. Wow, Gene! Thought we had a scoop there for a minute! But, alas, I checked and yes, it turned out to be a typo. So while we have no idea whether or not Mr. Cosgrove will be the “naked” president of Discovery 3D (hey, Discovery is a very innovative company! :-), we do know for a fact that he was “named” president of Discovery 3D, so we’ve made that change to the story.
