Fantasia Barrino, the winner of the third season of "American Idol," plans on making television appearances starting Aug. 24 when she performs on "Good Morning America," just two weeks after landing in the hospital over overdosing, reports US Magazine.

The TV appearances represent previously scheduled spots that Barrino is sticking with despite being hospitalized for overdosing on Aspirin and a sleeping aid last week, the article says.

She’ll be promoting her new album, "Back to Me," the story adds. "I can’t thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time," Barrino said in a statement on Monday. "It has given me the motivation to get back to work …I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do."
