An actress who won Emmys in the 1980s as part of a popular comedy troupe will join the Syfy pilot "Three Inches" as the main character’s mother, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress is Andrea Martin, who won two Emmys as part of the team behind "SCTV Network." Her character is described as cynical although protective of her son, who has the ability to move any object three inches by using his mind, the story says.

The 90-minute pilot comes from Fox TV Studios and writer Harley Peyton of "Twin Peaks." It’s executive produced by Bob Cooper, the story says.
