An actor who has played James Bond in the movies will make an appearance on NBC’s "Chuck" as a mystery man with ties to Chuck’s mother, reports EW.com’s The Ausiello Files.

The actor is Timothy Dalton, who played Agent 007 in “The Living Daylights” and “Licence to Kill.”

"Chuck" executive producer Josh Schwartz declined to disclose the relationship between Dalton’s character and Chuck’s mom, although he did say that the character isn’t Chuck’s real dad.

“We’ll only say that they’ve known each other for a long time," Schwartz said.

The appearance will mark Dalton’s first appearance in a U.S. television series in more than three decades, since he had a role in "Charlie’s Angels" in 1979, the story says.

"We’ve wanted to have him on the show since season 1,” Schwartz said. “When we came up with this part, we thought he’d be perfect. So we sent him [some episodes], he dug it, and then we started talking."

Dalton will appear in the upcoming season’s seventh episode, called "Chuck Versus the First Fight."

  1. Chucks coming back! Yay! And with the best James Bond since Sean Connery.
