An Oscar-winning actor has signed on to play Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson in HBO’s movie "Too Big to Fail," reports Deadline.com.

The actor is William Hurt, who won an Oscar in 1986 for his starring role in “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

The drama will look at the 2008 financial crisis by focusing on Paulson, the story says.

Filming will start in early fall from a script by Peter Gould, who based it on the book by New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin.

HBO will soon be casting the other parts of the drama, including Paulson’s successor Timothy Geitner, Lehman Bros CEO Richard Fuld and Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke, the article adds.

Who do you think should be cast to play these parts? Here at TVWeek we have an outside-the-box idea of which HBO-friendly face (right) should play Bernanke (left) :

  1. Actually actually excellent weblog article which has got me considering. I never looked at this from your point of view.

  2. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. 🙂
